Rhino Records has boxed CD sets of the first five albums of various artists,e.g. Ray Charles, Dr John, Paul Butterfield, Los Lobos, Chicago, Bobby Darin, Sinatra and many many more.
Google or search Ebay: 'Original Album Series'.
A great and inexpensive way to replace tired copies or fill in gaps in your collection.
Here's some info and a partial list of some of the artists they've included in this series so far (not always the first five albums, by the way). Quite a variety.....

Boy you ain't Shi_ _ _ _ _ !!! That's what I call totally destroying a Classic Tune !
I personally don't like the Rhino Re-Masters.Sometimes they are mixed quite a bit different from the original recording, and the sound quality is Horrible. And is Nothing to write home About IMHO.I always try to find an original pressing if available. They just sound better to my ears. :D
+1
I was just auditioning a little bit of "In The Court in the Crimson King" which I enjoyed, sometimes you forget about some bands when you haven't heard them in awhile. And then it is like a new found discovery (treasure) all over again. You really forget how good they are when they haven't been heard in a long time. ;)
Not my favorite band, but these guys had a great sound. I love their self titled debut album, and their second lp "Elysian Encounter" as well. As much as I'm a child of the 70's, I still have to admit it's hard for me these days to look at the hair, clothes (glitter guitar) etc. Seems the look of the 70's has aged but at least some of the 70's sounds are still great. Some of you may recognize the drummer......
